Waskesiu Community Council

  The Waskesiu Community Association, a body corporate acting through an elected council known as the Waskesiu Community Council, is recognized by Parks Canada Agency as the voice of the community.  Council also owns and operates the website Waskesiu.org for the benefit of the Waskesiu community.

The Waskesiu Community Council is democratically elected to represent the views of the Waskesiu community to Parks Canada Agency (PCA). We assist PCA in establishing practices for the operation of the Waskesiutownsite. The Waskesiu Community Council operates under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding between Council and PCA. The Memorandum of Understanding outlines Council’s responsibilities to both permanent and seasonal residents of Waskesiu, and to PCA.

The Council started operating in Waskesiu in 1997

The Waskesiu Community Association Inc. is the non-profit corporation that serves as the Waskesiu Community Council, and it is owned by the community of Waskesiu.
